The article analyses the motif of revenge in the Galician-Portuguese troubadour song, specifying its function and characteristics and relating it to theological thought (divine vengeance) and the socio-cultural context. A large part is dedicated to the genre of the cantiga de amigo (peculiarities and rhetoric of female vengeance, vindicatory oath, function of refrains and ‘fiindas’).

Starting from the cultural-historical framework of the Catalan presence in Naples between the 14th and 15th centuries, the influence of Catalan on Neapolitan scripta in three textual typologies of the 15th century is studied: Neapolitan texts of Catalan speakers, translations of Catalan works and official texts; lexical Catalanisms in 15th-century Neapolitan texts are identified and analysed.
