Sono noti da tempo i frammenti epici (Chanson d’Aspremont, Gui de Bourgogne, Anseïs de Carthage) provenienti dall’abbazia di Sées. L’articolo, discutendo due recenti edizioni, dà conto del ritrovamento di nuovi frammenti delle tre canzoni provenienti dagli stessi manoscritti di Sées e fornisce l’edizione di quelli relativi a Gui e Anseïs.

The epic fragments (Chanson d’Aspremont, Gui de Bourgogne, Anseïs de Carthage) from the abbey of Sées have long been known. The paper comments on two recent editions, gives an account of the discovery of new fragments of the three songs from the same Sées manuscripts and provides an edition of those relating to Gui and Anseïs.

Un nuovo testimone dei Trois fils du rois, il ms. Harley 4408, viene descritto e collocato all’interno della tradizione del testo. Il manoscritto permette di chiarire maggiormente la fisionomia della redazione β e le sue divergenze rispetto alla redazione rivale α. Dalla comparazione delle due appare evidente che β conserva la redazione primitiva, sottoposta in α a una riscrittura che tocca il piano lessicale, sintattico e stilistico. Responsabile di questa riscrittura dev’essere stato l’atelier di David Aubert, di cui si precisa il ruolo non di semplice copista ma di vero e proprio editor.

A new witness of the Trois fils du rois, ms. Harley 4408, is described and placed within the tradition of the text. The manuscript allows us to further clarify the physiognomy of redaction β and its divergence from the rival redaction α. A comparison of the two makes it clear that β retains the primitive redaction, which in α undergoes a rewriting that touches the lexical, syntactic and stylistic planes. Responsible for this rewriting must have been the atelier of David Aubert, whose role is not that of a mere copyist but of a real editor.
