Nel contributo si ribadisce la tesi che nel Duecento vigesse ancora un sistema di rima trivocalica, ereditata dalla ritmica mediolatina e viva ancora nei testi arcaici italiani. Si sostiene anche che sia da giudicare illusoria l’esistenza della cosiddetta rima siciliana e che sia da porre in dubbio anche la sicilianità linguistica dei testi della Scuola poetica siciliana.

The article reiterates the thesis that a trivocalic rhyme system, inherited from the Middle Latin rhythm and still alive in archaic Italian texts, still prevailed in the 13th century. It also argues that the existence of so-called Sicilian rhyme should be considered illusory, and that the linguistic Sicilianness of the texts of the Sicilian Poetic School should also be questioned.
