L’articolo presenta un confronto tra i volgarizzamenti di due libri del Nuovo Testamento, il Vangelo di Matteo e l’Epistola ai Romani, considerati nella versione α contenuta, tra gli altri, nel codex antiquior M2 (Venezia, Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana, It.I.2). Lo studio comparato dell’usus vertendi intende soffermarsi sulle caratteristiche tecniche, retoriche e linguistiche delle traduzioni per verificare l’identità del volgarizzatore. L’analisi evidenzia le coincidenze delle soluzioni sintattiche e lessicali che ricorrono in modo sistematico in entrambe le traduzioni, ponendo l’accento su ciò che risulta inatteso rispetto allo standard traduttivo dei volgarizzamenti coevi.

This article presents a comparison between the vernacular translations of the books of Matthew and the Epistle to the Romans examined in their Version α, preserved, among other witnesses, in the codex antiquior M2 (Venice, Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana, It. I.2). The comparative study of the usus vertendi focuses on the technical, rhetorical, and linguistic features of the translations to verify the identity of the translator. The analysis highlights the syntactic and lexical correspondences that recur systematically in both translations, placing particular emphasis on those elements that prove unexpected when compared to the translational norms of contemporary vernacular versions.
