This article studies British Library Royal Manuscript 20 D 1 (Histoire ancienne jusqu’à César, second redaction, made in Naples) with a view to demonstrating how it embodies a network of texts and cultural exchanges. It also makes the case for the integration of core philological skills into so-called ‘global medieval studies’.
