Les Archives Départementales de Meurthe-et-Moselle, à Nancy, conservent des fragments non répertoriés des Première et Troisième Continuations du Conte du Graal. Ils sont issus d'un manuscrit que l'on peut probablement dater du troisième quart du XIIIe siècle et dont la langue est colorée de picard. Cet article se consacre aux extraits du premier de ces deux textes, représenté pour environ 360 vers. La version donnée par ce fragment (n) appartient à la rédaction brève du roman. Elle est très proche de celle du ms. A (le manuscrit de Guiot), beaucoup plus que le ms S, qui en était jusqu’ici le plus proche parent. L'étude établit qu'A et n ont un modèle commun distinct de S. Elle permet ainsi à divers égards de réévaluer la constitution de la rédaction brève et la spécificité du manuscrit de Guiot.

The Archives Départementales de Meurthe-et-Moselle (Nancy) hold some unregistered fragments of th First and the Third Continuations of the Conte du Graal. They were parts of a XIIIth-century manuscript (likely the third quarter) whose language shows a few Picard features. This paper focuses on the First Continuation pieces, which represent about 360 verses. The version of this Nancy fragment (n) belongs to the short redaction of the text. It is very close to that of ms A (the Guiot manuscript), far closer than ms S is, although the latter has been hitherto considered as the most closely related to the former. The study demonstrates that A and n are descended from a common model S does not share with them. Hence, it allows to reevaluate some aspects of the constitution of the short redaction, as well as the specificity of the Guiot manuscript.
