Les anciennes chroniques de Pise (seconda metà del sec. XV) è un’opera cronachistica in prosa, anonima e ancora inedita, che narra avvenimenti leggendari e storici intorno alla città di Pisa, dalle sue origini mitiche fino alla presa da parte di Firenze del 1406, con qualche cursoria notizia relativa ad anni successivi dello stesso secolo. Il testo è stato scritto in medio francese alla corte dell’ultimo duca di Borgogna, Carlo il Temerario, ed è tràdito da otto manoscritti, tutti realizzati tra i secc. XV e XVI, la maggior parte dei quali particolarmente pregiati, miniati e di alta committenza. In questo articolo viene descritto il ms. 133 della Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek Darmstadt, testimone fin’ora sconosciuto di queste cronache.

Les anciennes chroniques de Pise (second half of the XVth century) is an anonymous and still unpublished text about mythical and historical events that occurred in the town of Pisa, from its origins until the 1406. The text also has some relevant news about successive years of the same century. It was written in middle French at the court of Burgundy for the duke Charles the Bold and has been transmitted in eight manuscripts, which were written between the XVth and XVth centuries, most of them illuminated and probably commissioned by high and rich aristocrats. In this article an unknown ms. (Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek Darmstadt, Hs. 133) is described and all useful codicological information about it is provided.
