Dopo le ricerche di P. Liria Montañés, A. Rossebastiano e M.M. Rodríguez Temperley, si torna sul problema dell'identificazione del modello oitanico da cui deriva la traduzione aragonese del Livre de voyages di Jean de Mandeville, conservataci da un solo codice, l’Escorialense M-iii-7. Operando un ampio raffronto sia con la Versione Insulare sia con la Versione Continentale , rappresentata non solo dall’unico ms. edito (BnF n.a.fr. 4515 = P13), ma anche da tre testimoni inediti (Arsenal 3219 = P, BnF n.a.fr. 10723 = P14, Modena, B. Estense 33 = Mo), l’A. pone in luce omissioni, errori, banalizzazioni e infedeltà nel tradurre da una lingua romanza a un’altra, prospettando quale modello un ms. non coincidente con P14 , ma ad esso assai vicino.

After the studies by P. Liria Montañés, A. Rossebastiano and M.M. Rodríguez Temperley, the article focuses on the Aragonese translation of Jean de Mandeville's Livre de voyages, whose title is Libro de las maravillas del mundo, and particularly on one passage which is preserved in only one manuscript, Escorial M-iii-7. This is compared with the Insular Version and with three manuscripts of the Continental Version: BnF n.a.fr. 4515 (P13), the only one who has been published, Arsenal 3219 (P), BnF n.a.fr. 10723 (P14) and Modena, B. Estense 33 (Mo), unpublished. Comparison reveals, on the one hand, simplifications, innovations and translating mistakes in the Aragonese text, on the other hand its affinities but also divergences with P14, which has been considered by some scholars the model for the translation.
